As in the previous article, we found significantly more potential covered calls stock options positions with Apple than with Microsoft, and the reason is not difficult to understand as Apple’s stock price has been much more volatile than Microsoft’s stock price lately.

For Microsoft, the Option Chain Tool returned one potentially lucrative in-the-money [ITM] covered calls stock options position with a maximum potential return of 3.4% in 47 days and downside protection of 2.1%.

For Apple, the Option Chain Tool returned five potentially lucrative covered calls stock options positions with potential returns ranging from 2.3% to 12.6% (47 days) with downside protection ranging from 2.7% to 14.3%. The higher potential returns for Apple are out-of-the-money [OTM] and also exhibit smaller downside protections, and the lower potential returns for Apple are ITM but have higher downside protection. This illustrates the beauty of covered calls investing, as an investor can tailor their investments according to their own personal risk/reward profile, aggressive investors can select positions more in the OTM direction and investors seeking more safety can select positions more in the ITM direction.
