Red Hat (RHT) and Ruby Tuesday (RI) were listed in the article because they have a 2 period RSI reading below 2 and are trading above their 200-day moving average. RSI, or relative strength index, is a technical analysis tool widely used by investors to predict future stock movement.

A broader look at news surrounding these stocks shows Ruby Tuesday is scheduled for an earnings call on Wednesday, April 11. Earnings are expected to be around $0.53 a share for the quarter. This is up from the $0.28 a share announced in November of 2006.

As far as Red Hat, a Motley Fool article last week made the following remarks, “In fiscal 2006, Red Hat added 160 net new employees. The company started fiscal 2007 with a global staff of 1,100. We don’t know how many came on board during the year, but management expects to hire about 100 people per quarter this year. That’s a pretty significant hiring rate for such a modest operation.”
